With regard to the odds levels, 888 rank in the middle to bottom-end range in our overall leader board. For football and tennis – arguably 2 of the most popular betting markets in the UK – the odds prices of 92.91% and 93.34% respectively are just a little lower than some of the other operators in our review. The numbers for snooker and basketball are slightly more competitive, however still not quite high enough to better the high Betfair payout prices of up to 94.6%. The odds prices are subject to change pretty quickly, and are indicated by the red or green arrows attached to the odds price. If there are any further changes to the odds price before you get around to completing the bet placement process, a bold green notification will appear that will notify you of the price change – at which point you can choose to either accept or decline the new price.
Improved Live Streaming
In an attempt to keep up with the competition, 888sport have made some considerable improvements to their live streaming service in recent years. In addition to a fair selection of British and Irish horse racing streams, punters can now view live coverage from the German Bundesliga, the Russian KHL ice hockey league and Euroleague basketball.
As we can see, the selection of sports available for live streaming is actually ok, however the overall volume of streams shown per day is somewhat lacking when compared to some of the in-play giants. When we compare 888sport with the outstanding service offered by Coral that at times shows well over 200 live fixtures per day, we see that 888sport is still a fair few footsteps the industry’s leaders. In order to see if a fixture is available for live streaming, simply look out for the TV icon that will displayed alongside the given event. To view streams, you either need to have a funded account, or have placed a bet on the sportsbook in the last 24 hours. For horse racing, access to live streams is only permitted once you’ve placed a bet of at least £1 (or 50p each way) on the race that you wish to view.
Live Scores and Stats
As previously touched on earlier, 888sport have made some significant improvements to their live stats and scores centre. Probably the most outstanding new feature is the live infographic, which now appears alongside a far greater percentage of football fixtures than we had previously seen with 888. Users can now choose to either maximise the infographic in order to see the game in full view, or minimise it into a slightly smaller window as to make more room for the full list of in-play betting markets and real time match events. The infographic tracks the ball in real time and lets you know whether your team is on the attack, when there’s been a break in play or when there’s a corner or throw-in about to take place.
The one main drawback of the 888sport in-play arena is the absence of a really detailed stats table for some of the less high profile games. For all the top flight sporting competitions such as the NBA, The Champions League or Wimbledon, there’s a fully loaded stats table with near enough everything you need to know about the current fixture. However for some of the slightly less popular, lower league fixtures, the stats table is nowhere near as comprehensive. In order to view a more complete collection of past stats and figures for a given fixture, clicking on the small bar graph icon in the top right hand corner of the stats table will reveal a pretty impressive overview of the recent match history between the two teams in question, and will also allow you to explore the full results centre.
Live Betting Bonus
At the time of writing there was no dedicated live offer. However, all is not lost, check out 888sport’s bonuses for more info. You may find you can utilise some of there offer in the live arena.
Conclusion – Still Room for Improvement
After having reviewed the different aspects of the in-play service, we think it’s pretty safe to say that live betting probably isn’t the bookmaker’s strongest feature. This isn’t to suggest that there aren’t any noteworthy features available here; the recent revamping of the website has significantly improved the 888sport in-play betting experience, with the newly enhanced live infographic and live streaming options now on offer being noticeably better. However when it comes to some of the key areas such as providing a vast range of creative betting markets as with Ladbrokes, good odds levels, and a properly scheduled in play calendar, the bookmaker unfortunately comes up a little short.

As mentioned earlier, we were really pleased with the new 888 sportsbook design. Although it wasn’t quite enough to drastically boost the operator’s rankings, we did feel as though it was worth another mention. To get the full details of the new and improved user-interface, along with all the new special added features, head over to our main review page and get the full update.

Do I have unrestricted access to live streams?
As previously mentioned, as long as you have a positive account balance, or have placed a bet in the last 24 hours, you’ll be able to view live streams. To watch races in the UK and Ireland you have to have placed a bet of at least £1 on the race you wish to view. Live streams can only be accessed from within the UK and Ireland.
