  • Venue: Anfield
  • Sunday 14 April 16:30
  • Referee: Michael Oliver
  • Quick Glance Odds H: 4/7 D: 3/1 A: 19/4

About the Game:

Liverpool won the first leg of their UCL quarter final tie against Porto on Tuesday, with a clean sheet and two goal advantage making them look very likely to progress into the next round. The Reds have won their last four league games too, after a somewhat jittery phase, where they dropped points and drew many games. But, Liverpool made it through that stage, and have come out the other end having still lost just once this season. Mo Salah finally refound his shooting boots last weekend with his first goal in six games, while Joe Gomez has returned to fitness. The first match of this clash was a spectacular affair, with Liverpool salvaging a point through a late Daniel Sturridge goal.

Liverpool have had a couple of days extra rest coming into this match, which is a huge advantage, especially at this stage of the season, with the games coming thick and fast. Home advantage, where Liverpool are unbeaten for a year, also means it will be difficult to bet against Liverpool.

Bet on the Liverpool v Chelsea game this weekend

Chelsea have turned things around in the last few games, with results for other teams helping them making a surprising entry back into third place. They have played one more game than most of the other teams fighting for a top four spot however, and that fact, coupled with the difficulty of this match, means things could change very quickly.

Eden Hazard was electric last weekend against West Ham, and while a summer move away from Stamford Bridge looks increasingly likely, he will have still have a huge impact on what happens to Chelsea next season. A Europa League game on Thursday means Chelsea have less time to recover, but Sarri has finally started to rotate his players somewhat. That has meant that Hudson-Odoi and Loftus-Cheek have finally gotten the chances they deserve.

Prediction: Liverpool Win – Anfield remains a fortress and Liverpool are in good form. Chelsea’s Europa League exploits just three days before this match could have a big effect.

Rest of the Premier League Games

There are some other key matches at both the top and the bottom of the table this weekend.

Leicester v Newcastle

  • Venue: The King Power
  • Friday 12 April 20:00
  • Referee: Chris Kavanagh
  • Quick Glance Odds H: 8/11 D: 14/5 A: 9/2

About the Game:

Leicester are in fine form since Brendan Rogers took over. Four wins in a row has put the Foxes in pole position to take 7th spot and the players will be confident of making it five here.

Newcastle are without a win in five and will be looking over their shoulders at the teams close behind them. Away form has been a problem and this is a very difficult trip to a team in good form.

Prediction: Leicester Win – Leicester are playing some fine football and are getting the results to match. Newcastle will set up to frustrate them, but Leicester should emerge winners.

Tottenham v Huddersfield

  • Venue: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
  • Saturday 13 April 12:30
  • Referee: Lee Mason
  • Quick Glance Odds H: 2/11 D: 6/1 A: 12/1

About the Game:

Spurs have had a torrid time in the league of late, but they did win their last match and also earned a vital win in the UCL against Manchester City on Tuesday. Spurs are back at their new stadium, but they will at least be without Harry Kane; the striker went off injured on Tuesday and could be missing for the rest of the season.

Relegated Huddersfield are the whipping boys of the league lately. However, the players have something to play for, with many hoping to remain part of the team next season, or even earn a move to an EPL team. Spurs may be forced to play a weakened team due to next week’s UCL clash, so don’t count Huddersfield out of this one too quickly.

Prediction: Both teams to score no – Spurs may be weaker in attack, but they have been resolute in defence lately, and shouldn’t find it too hard to keep the visitors out.

Brighton v Bournemouth

  • Venue: AMEX
  • Saturday 13 April 15:00
  • Referee: Kevin Friend
  • Quick Glance Odds H: 5/4 D: 11/5 A: 9/4

About the Game:

Brighton fell out of the FA Cup to Manchester City and can though they will be disappointed, they can now focus on ensuring another season in the top flight. They play two games this week, with another vital home game against Cardiff on Tuesday. Win both and it will be job done for another season.

Bournemouth are surely safe already, but their poor form – especially away – means they are slipping gradually into the relegation fight. Away form has been their undoing, and they play away here against a team that will be fighting for every point.

Prediction: Brighton Win – Bournemouth’s poor away for means that Brighton are favourites here, as they fight to stay in the Premier League.

Burnley v Cardiff
Burnley Form Guide DWDDL
Cardiff Form Guide LDLDW
  • Venue: Turf Moor
  • Saturday 13 April 15:00
  • Referee: Mike Dean
  • Quick Glance Odds H: 10/11 D: 12/5 A: 31/10

About the Game:

Burnley have won back-to-back games after losing the previous four, and are currently six points clear of Cardiff. This is a massive game for both teams, but Burnley are at home, knowing that a win would all but ensure them survival after a tough season. Expect the fans to get right behind their team.

Cardiff came agonisingly close to beating Chelsea last week, but instead, three points turned into none. That loss was costly, and Cardiff remain the team looking mostly likely to drop. Lose here and another relegation candidate will be safe from the mix, so Cardiff simply cannot afford to lose.

Prediction: Burnley Win – Burnley play well in patches, so we expect them to make it three wins and ensure safety here.

Fulham v Everton

  • Venue: Craven Cottage
  • Saturday 13 April 15:00
  • Referee: Lee Probert
  • Quick Glance Odds H: 15/4 D: 13/5 A: 3/4

About the Game:

Scott Parker has lost all his games in charge of Fulham, as the Cottagers remain naive at the back. Those defenders will have a very stern test here, against a team in great form.

Everton are on a resurgent run and a strong finish could them end up in 7th spot despite a difficult season. The Toffees have improved defensively too, and will expect to win here.

Prediction: Over 2.5 goals – Fulham usually get on the scoresheet and we good see a goalfest at Craven Cottage.

Southampton v Wolves
Soton Form Guide LLLLL
Wolves Form Guide DWDWW
  • Venue: St Mary’s
  • Saturday 13 April 15:00
  • Referee: Jonathan Moss
  • Quick Glance Odds H: 6/4 D: 21/10 A: 19/10

About the Game:

Southampton put up a good fight against Liverpool last weekend but were eventually outclassed. The league position is still precarious for Southampton, but they are playing good football and the results are generally encouraging.

Wolves have to contend with the heartbreak of their FA Cup semi final defeat from last weekend, but must try and push on to earn 7th place. Wolves have had a fantastic first season in the league, but surprisingly, their problems have come against the teams in the bottom half of the table, rather than the top.

Prediction: Both teams to score – Southampton are strong at home and have everything to play for, while their opponents are not short of ability themselves.

Manchester United v West Ham
Man U Form Guide WDLDD
West Ham Form Guide WWWLW
  • Venue: Old Trafford
  • Saturday 13 April 17:30
  • Referee: Graham Scott
  • Quick Glance Odds H: 2/5 D: 15/4 A: 6/1

About the Game:

Manchester United come into this one after playing in the UCL on Wednesday. That’s little rest for a team that still contains a number of injured players, especially with crunch time in the season approaching. United have stuttered a little in recent weeks, but they do host an out of sorts West Ham.

West Ham look a little more than out of sorts at the moment. Three defeats in four games is bad enough, but the performances from the Hammers have been shocking. West Ham have little to play for and that is perhaps not helping things, and with five games left, they could easily slip numerous places down the table yet.

Prediction: Manchester United Win + Over 2.5 goals – This may be an opportunity for United to take the handbrake off somewhat, and we could see goals as a result.

Crystal Palace v Manchester City
Crystal Palace Form Guide LDDDW
Man C Form Guide WWLWD
  • Venue: Selhurst Park
  • Sunday 14 April 14:05
  • Referee: Martin Atkinson
  • Quick Glance Odds H: 17/2 D: 17/4 A: 3/10

About the Game:

The job is pretty much done at Palace for another season, but Hodgson’s men could still climb the table with a strong finish.  They’ve beaten Manchester City already this season, so there’s the extra motivation of getting the double over the champions.

City fell to a surprise defeat in the UCL on Tuesday, their first in 24 matches. Still fighting a war on four different fronts, fatigue could be Guardiola’s strongest opponent. The question here is, will City bounce straight back, or will they receive a blow to their EPL hopes, after their UCL challenge was dented midweek.

Prediction: Manchester City First Half/Second Half – City have played at a slower tempo recently, but after tasting defeat in midweek, we expect an immediate answer.

Watford v Arsenal
Watford Form Guide DDWLL
Arsenal Form Guide LWDLL
  • Venue: Vicarage Road
  • Monday 15 April 20:00
  • Referee: Craig Pawson
  • Quick Glance Odds H: 1/2 D: 3/1 A: 6/1

About the Game:

Watford will play in the FA Cup final this summer after an incredible comeback last weekend. The Hornets are also just one point from 7th spot, so motivation levels should still be high. A strong finish could make this a very successful season.

Arsenal’s top four hopes were damaged with an uninspired defeat to Everton last weekend. The Gunner’s away form has been the problem all season, and this is another of a few more remaining tricky away fixtures. Those games will make or break Arsenal’s season.

Prediction: Both teams to score – Arsenal should rectify their failure to score here, but they are very poor defensively away from home.
